Foreign employees coming form non EU countries should be aware that the electricity in The Netherlands is single phase alternating current with a voltage of 220V. For instance TV sets and stereos are not adaptable for The Netherlands unless they work on the PAL (Phase Alternating Line) system. On the other hand low-wattage appliances such as laptops, shavers, and hair dryers can be easily used with a transformer.
