Winterland (end of November - 1st week of January). Every year in Maastricht, from the last week of November till the first week of January, the Vrijthof is transformed into a winter square with a huge ice skating ring, a fairground with a big ferris wheel and the popular Christmas market. Gluhwein (warm red wine), hot chocolate and pancakes are some of the delicacies one can taste on this enchanted square.
This once a year magical experience offers a unique winter atmosphere for the whole family.
